Premier Tymoshenko officially calls on President to cancel early parliamentary elections

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko officially addresses President Viktor Yushchenko with a proposal to cancel pre-term parliamentary elections in Ukraine with aggravation of the global financial crisis taken into account, she was speaking at a Cabinet meeting Tuesday. "For the sake of order in the country, for the sake of people protection I call on the President to cancel the parliamentary elections so that the parliaments starts work, while all quarrels must be put aside," the Premier stressed.

Y. Tymoshenko also said there are 49 draft laws for today that need to be immediately adopted to stabilize the economic situation in the country and the voting may be held only given the parliament work is unblocked.
